A Vectorworks license is free for students and teachers who are involved in design-oriented study programs. First create an account on the Vectorworks student portal. Then you can request your free license and download your software.
Go to student.myvectorworks.net.
Log in:
If you already have an Vectorworks account, please log in with your username and password (note, these are not the login details of the old student portal).
If you don't have an Vectorworks account yet, click “Create Account” at the bottom left and create an account using your personal email address (not your student email address). After creating your account, log in to the student portal.
You will be redirected to the request page.
Choose “Request a New License”. Please fill in all your details. Enter the country of your school under “Country”. Under language, your best choice is your mother tongue.
Accept the terms and conditions and click “Verify Status”.
A new page of your school platform will open. Log in with your students email address and password of your school platform and confirm. The external partner SheerID will check your data.
The student portal will process your application immediately.
[Image]Once the request has been processed, you will receive an email with the approval of your request along with your download for MacOS or Windows and your personal serial number. All these details can also be found on the student portal.
Exceptions
In exceptional situations, approval for your application will not be automatic. You will be notified here after step six with the request to continue with the verification process. In the new pop-up window, add a correct proof of enrollment.
Again, SheerID will review and approve the application as soon as possible.
Request denied
Sometimes SheerID cannot verify you with the submitted information. Please verify that your information is correct, but if you are still experiencing problems, contact the SheerID support team using the link provided in your rejection email. If you believe that an error has been made after completing the process with SheerID, you can fill out an application form here.
NOTE
The standard suggested download is always the latest version of Vectorworks. If your school uses an older version, consult your teacher on which version you need. Then go to the licensing page on the student portal and click “Request Previous versions”.
