You can easily open older files with a new Vectorworks license.
But if you prefer another way, and you are a member of Vectorworks Service Select, you can choose to install an older Vectorworks version and use that to open the old files.
On the Vectorworks Customer Portal , go to ‘Licenses’ and find your older serial numbers by clicking the black arrow next to ‘Version’.
On that same Customer Portal, under ‘Downloads’ for ‘Previous versions’, click to download the corresponding Vectorworks version.
Unzip / decompress the downloaded folder (Windows only).
Start the installation process.
Follow the instructions in the dialog box and enter the correct serial number.
Very old files with .mcd extension must first be converted via the Vectorworks Convertor.
